Zimmer Durom Cup Hip Device Recall Not Good for Patients

Alot of poor people who received durom hip implant applied in their hip replacement surgeries are determining that there are complications that far exceed the natural expectations for recuperation. These patients are feeling a lot of needless anguish for longer time periods, required to undergo revision surgeries and increased medical costs, and losing income by being unable to work at their regular businesses. Although Zimmer Holdings, Inc. is laying claim that that their hip replacement implant could never be malfunctioning and not to be held accountable for the faulty surgical procedures, some people are filing lawsuits against them and taking settlements.

These tormented individuals definitely deserve some help and compensation which obviously is why product liability lawyers are telling them to initiate lawsuits. larry dorr has been settling up with these claims. Nevertheless, even if the settlement they are being offered seems like it could be a air settlement, in numerous cases implant recipients are settling too quickly and with no provision or allowance put in place for reoccuring problems if it happens again. If they don’t hold off and wait, to find out what cases are actually going to be worth, people could find themselves ending up paying alot more money from their own pocket when more problems start to surface.

Anyone who thinks they may have a claim against Zimmer may consider checking into it. If you believe you may qualify, you should call a attorney to be certain. Try to find a lawfirm that covers nationally and who has a main focus on litigation against faulty medical devices. This law firm has done the extra work and setup a special division to do the research and take care of the claims against Zimmer and secure equitable settlements for their customers.

If your orthopedic physician breaks the news that will have to have a revision surgical operation to resolve your Zimmer Durom hip replacement device, call an lawyer as soon as humanly possible.

Once your lawyer realizes that you have a good case, be ready to wait in order to get the best settlement that your attorney will be able to negotiate for you. Take notice of the advice that your attorney provides for you and do not rush the process including the restitution. You may end up losing a lot of money if you arent willing to be patient.

17 Tips to Plan a Website

Everyone wants one.

Everyone wishes they knew how to make one.

SOME have them but don’t know what to do with them.

The very few know *what* to do and *how * to do it … and have success!

What am I talking about?

*************************
Setting up a Website
*************************

Some of you might have no idea of all the things you need to think about before you ever put a website online.

Remember the Kevin Costner movie where it was said, “Build it and they will come!”? That worked like a miracle, and it was after all a baseball field … and it involved a miracle or two.

Don’t imagine for a second that you can put your website online and that visitors will miraculously appear and start shopping … it requires effort, hard work and a great belief in your business or service. Did I mention “hard work”? Yes, it’s worth mentioning again if you want your success online as well as offline.

*************************
17 Tips
*************************

* CREATE A WEBSITE PLAN – grab a piece of paper, draw a square or rectangle at the top which represents the HOME page. Now turn the page over, and write down all the things you want to do with the website, which could turn into the names of website pages e.g. Contact Us, About Us, Products, Services, Prices, Frequently Asked Questions etc. When you have a list of web page names, turn the page over and draw them as boxes under the Home page, in the the order they will appear online. Seeing this on paper will help you tremendously to get a feel for the website. Look at other websites to get ideas.

* Each web page needs to have a TITLE which appears in the top edge of the browser. This is written in the html meta tags. On another piece of paper turned lengthways, draw two lines – one to create a narrow column on the left, and the next two about the same width. Break the length of the page into 8 or 10 sections by drawing lines across the page [one section per web page - use more than one page if necessary]. In the left-hand column, write the Title for each page, in a separate line [leave the other columns blank.] This information will be embedded in the html so that the search engines will display a *different* title for each page. The Title appears at the top of the browser window, above the typing / url line. This is very important and must be different for each page.

* Each page needs a DESCRIPTION which will appear in search engines. On the page with the Titles written on it, you can now write 2-3 sentences about each page – use the column in the middle. This information will be embedded in the html *meta description* tag so that the search engines will display a *different* description for each page.

* KEYWORDS are used to specify what the theme of each page is. In the third column on the page, write keywords of importance in the right-hand column. Some keywords might be the same for the whole website, and some keywords will be different, depending on the theme of each page.

* CONTENT is king! … or so they say. What this means is that the Content of each page is important, and must grab the visitor’s attention. You may need to rewrite your content many times to get it just right. Content = words.

* The PAGE WIDTH is important if you are creating the pages yourself. Each page should be no more than 750 pixels wide, so that people with laptops will not have to scroll endlessly to read all your text – this is a great way to bore your visitors who will leave your site and go surfing on other websites.

* Don’t use ITALICS or UNDERLINE on your webpages – on some monitors the italics are impossible to read, and everyone is used to clicking on underlined words as this represents a LINK to another page or website.

* FONT DISPLAY. Some will display differently on different computers [depending on browsers, operating systems etc], so it is best to use an HTML Stylesheet to specify which fonts and sizes you want to use. You will be able to find free tutorials on Cascading Style Sheets [CSS] online. This will make it easy to change the look of your entire website with a few changes to the stylesheet.

* FLASHING IMAGES & TEXT. Forget it. Flashing images and ads drive people crazy and the website visitor will probably click away quickly to go to a different web site in seconds.

* WEBSITE THEME. Is your site going to be an information site, or will it be a duplication of your brochure to show your wares, or will you be selling online? Give this plenty of thought – research your competitors online, see how they present themselves. What would you do the same, or do differently?

* MONEY! Will you need an online payment processor like Paypal? Will you accept credit cards or will you expect customers to fax or post orders to you? Or email an order to you? You need to do some research to work out what is the best solution for you. Join webmaster forums or forums related to your industry, to find out what other people use; ask questions; don’t be shy.

* Your EMAIL NAME. It *MUST* match your website name … please please avoid using a hotmail or yahoo or other free email name. If your email name matches your website name, you *will* look professional!

* REDUCE SPAM. You can reduce spam by encrypting your email name wherever it appears on your website. Search for a javascript email encoder or encrypter – you will find free ones online, and encrypt your email name.. If unscrupulous people cannot easily collect your email name from your site, you will not be inundated with spam emails.

* PHOTOS & IMAGES need to be a good size to be seen on the website, and also need to be as *light* as possible in weight – 20-100kb is general rule of thumb. You can learn online how to make images and photos ready for the web.

* TEST THE WEBSITE. The way the page looks on millions of computer monitors and many brands of computers and browsers can differ greatly. If you are serious about your website development, you should ask friends with different computers [Macintosh and Windows] and different operating systems [Windows 98 - Windows XP] using different browsers [Internet Explorer, Netscape, Firefox, Mozilla etc] to look at the pages online *before* you tell customers your site is ready! Be willing to accept constructive criticism, thank your friends for their help.

* FASTEST WAY TO GET A WEBSITE ONLINE. In my experience, using a web builder is the fastest way to get online – you avoid hiring a website designer, you avoid paying ongoing website design fees, you avoid learning html or web design yourself. Some web builders come with hosting included in the price – so you don’t have to worry about *where* the website will *live*, or *how* to get it online. You will probably be able to buy the domain name from the same company. One company is http://www.BuildAWebsiteTonight.com.

* LAUNCH YOUR SITE! Remember to send an email announcement when your site is *live*, send press releases to local press & radio, announce on forums where potential clients might visit. Work out who your target market is, then decide the best way to approach them.

This is a quick list which I hope will help you to understand some of the basic steps to take when deciding on creating your website. Taking the step to create your website is a great one, which I’m sure you will find very rewarding – remember to enjoy yourself along the way!

Cheers,
Teena!

The Most Important Tool for Racing RC Cars

Believe it or not, the most important tool for tuning and
modifying RC cars, in any RC racer’s pit box, probably isn’t
even sold at your local hobby store. Despite thier absence
at hobby stores, you will see them laying on EVERY serious
RC pro’s pit area.

The tool is, collectively, the pencil and paper. One of the
most enjoyable experiences in RC cars, besides buying a new
trick ride, is testing something new, in the hope you will
discover the slight edge, or even a HUGE edge.

Today’s RC cars, buggies, and trucks have so many variables
that can be tinkered with, even the slightest adjustment can
have a drastic effect on the handling and speed of your
ride. Whether you race or just bash, you really should write
down the current operating state of your RC ride. Variables
such as ride hieght, camber, caster, the toe-in, the fuel
mixture you use, the charge time of your batteries, the
needle settings of your nitro, the running temp, how many
races you get in before you need to rebuild your motor, the
shock oil you use, and any thing else that you can think of.

As I’ve shared with the subscribers to my RC ezine, you
can’t improve what you don’t measure. If you are serious
about racing RC cars, you not only need to master your hand
eye coordination, but you should become compatent at
adjusting your RC car to the conditions you race under. Your
RC car performs differently on asphalt at 10 a.m., with a
certain compound tire, than it will at 5 p.m., after the oil
and moisture has heated up from exposure from the sun. The
traction can vary greatly. And with all the excitement and
preparation of the day’s events, writing down these changes
can be of great value for when you prepare your chassis or
tire choice for the following week. If you didn’t write them
down, you will probably forget them.

And you weekend bashers might be thinking that you aren’t
serious at RC, so it’s not necesary. But let me tell you, if
you take the time to write down the current state of your RC
cars and trucks, when you eventually change something, or
fate throws a tree in your way and “adjusts” your car setup
for you, you will be able to measure your setup and get back
to that original state, with no guess work. That means less
down time, and more bashing. And if you are still at a loss
on how to get back to that original state, you’ve got it in
writing for someone else, like the local hobby store guy,
to look over.

I encourage everyone of you to write down your car’s setup
info. It’s not only useful, but it will multiply how much
fun you get outta your RC cars, trucks, and buggies. Heck,
this little tip works on real life stuff as well.

There is one more use for this very important RC tool, and
that is to write down your lap times. In order to improve
and gauge your racing level, you need to be aware of your
lap times. Most racing clubs can print out a copy of the
days races for you or post them to thier club website, but
to really measure your success, you should keep a log of
how you do from week to week. If you do, I promise you, you
will find a whole new appreciation of the RC cars hobby. You
will find your mind focusing and aware of ways to improve,
such as cornering better, or controlling your throttle just
right. It really comes down to the way the human mind works.
When it focuses on a goal, it tends to make make strides in
that direction subconsciously. So take my advice… write it
down and measure.

Saltwater Fishing Tips

Fishing in Salt Water

There will always be challenges whether one decides to fish either in the river or in the open sea. The important thing to remember is to have patience waiting for the fish and doing your best to catch it when it appears.

To be able to fish, a person needs to get a fishing license since this is a requirement by law and the regulations regarding fishing varies from one state to the other.

The first thing one needs for salt water fishing is a boat. It can range from a simple row boat to a yacht. The size of this vessel depends on how many people will join the trip.

For people who will do it in-shore, a 15 foot sailboat that comes with a cuddy forward to serve as a shelter when it rains should do the job. The boat should not be heavy and yet adequately sturdy to not be swayed by the action of strong waves or some bumps on the beach or on the rocks.

One should always try the edges of the perimeter first instead of plopping bait or lure in the middle. This is because it will scare the other fish away. By going through the sides first, one will have a better chance of catching unsuspecting fish in the middle.

If one decides to go “down below” some time, a cod-line is a necessity for everybody to enjoy saltwater fishing. A perch-line will also be good and if it’s time for mackerel fishing, a mackerel jig will be an excellent help.

The right time to start salt water fishing is on the ebb tide. This should be during an early time of the morning to ensure that the trip will be a productive one. This will put the tide in one’s favor and if the wind is light or not fair, this will also help in going home quickly.

The best place to start fishing is going to a fishing ground that is well known to the locals.

Many anglers who are too impatient move from one spot to another which at times make these people miss a hotspot further decreasing the chances of catching fish. It is advisable to cast out a couple of times before moving on using different types of bait. This should be done from the shallowest to the deepest point.

Sharks in the area can disrupt people from catching fish. By pouring some fish blood on a paper towel or newspaper and rolling it into a ball then casting it overboard, sharks will follow the current and leave the area increasing the chances of catching fish.

Women And Horses – A Powerful Synergy

Horseback riding is a sport at which women excel. One can try to explain their success because they are lighter than men and have obvious anatomical advantages for the saddle. This is certainly not everything. After 70 years of riding and close association with riders, I am convinced that the most important reason for feminine preeminence in the sport is their ability to relate to horses. It is partly a matter of sensitivity and patience. It is also a matter of willingness to trust in a real partnership where the whole is far more powerful than the sum of the parts.

Men are often too preoccupied by the need to show their macho strength in dominating a horse and are less willing to seek a harmonious relationship. They often seem to feel they must overpower a horse and make it totally subservient to their will. Many of them would be pleased if a horse reacted in the same insensate way as an automobile to a turn of the wheel, a foot on the brake or a push on the accelerator. Some people are just more at ease with machines which will always obey even suicidal commands unquestioningly.

For 25 years I have owned one of the world’s largest riding tour companies and we have found that about 70% of our clients are female. They tend to find an easy rapport with horses which most men have more trouble achieving. At our own dude ranch the majority of our wranglers are women. They love working with horses and are invariably patient, friendly and understanding to both horses and guests without showing off. They have taken the time to study equitation and horses in depth and many hold degrees from the British Horse Society or similar American institutions. Our wranglers care passionately about the physical and psychological welfare of their horses and are extremely conscientious. We have seen few situations where great strength is an asset although men do have an advantage with shoeing.

For 20 years Linda Tellington-Jones has been doing a clinic at our ranch each year to teach people how to start young horses. During the week she starts our four-year-old Arabians who have not yet been backed although they are used to being around people from the time they are born. These clinics using non-confrontational techniques have been immensely successful with clients (90% women) and they have given our horses a wonderful start. During the week the young horses are slowly prepared for a rider without being pushed too much. It is a long process demanding considerable patience which few men seem willing to offer. They prefer crash programs, much in vogue these days, which overwhelm the horse in a short time and give quick results, but do not work so well to make a trusting partner out of the animal in the long term.

Women are also frequently the leaders of the riding tours we handle around the world so our own ranch with its 180 horses is not an exception internationally. From Botswana to Argentina there are women leading rides and doing a first rate job. It does seem to be true, however, that most Western dude ranches still adhere strongly to the masculine cowboy mystique with Marlboro hats, coiled ropes and jingling spurs. It depends on one’s priorities and many of these ranches are focused more on the trappings of a Western experience with barbecues, hay rides, square dances and sing-along’s rather than riding in the equestrian sense.

Many patriarchal societies of the past in the days when horses were such a symbol of power (it was not so long ago) tended to keep a near male monopoly on riding. It appears that this has not always been the case. The ancient Greeks, who knew a lot about human nature, have such a rich mythology about women riders that it seems to me there is very likely some reason to believe in the existence of early women equestrians. Certainly the image of the fierce Amazon horsewomen belonging to a matriarchal society is a powerful and pervasive tale. These fearsome equestrian warriors were reputed to have cut off a right breast so that they could better handle their bows and spears. If so, they must have been mighty serious about what they were doing. It is interesting that in Mongolian society today women participate in riding for work and sports right along with the men.

Women have come into their own with horses in much of the world now that men no longer monopolize them. They find enjoyment and fulfillment in achieving a harmonious relationship which empowers both horse and rider. One can find somewhat the same kind of pleasure in teamwork with a working dog. Herding cattle with a willing horse is a good example of the kind of thing people and horses can do together. Whatever it is that makes women and horses such a good match, it has been a great delight to me over the years to see the happiness which this relationship has brought to both and I celebrate this partnership.

Dos and Don’ts in Web Design – part 1 (design)

Do use a consistent look and feel
Your site should stand out as a whole. Use the same look and feel for all the pages at your site. This way your visitors have a sense of recognition when they visit various pages. Using stylesheets makes it much easier to maintain the look and feel of numerous pages.

Do use recurring visual elements

Repeat visual elements (images, colors, fonts etc.) on several pages. This will add to a consistent look and feel.

Don’t use dark backgrounds
Dark backgrounds tend to make text less readable. So avoid dark colors or dark backgroundimages. If you do need them, use a nonserif font for the text (like Arial, Universe, Helvetica) and be sure to not to use a small fontsize.

Don’t cram your pages
A page with text pushed aside against the border of a table – or an image – looks awful. Don’t cram your pages, use colspan and borderspan for tables and vspan and hspan for applets and images.

Don’t push your table out of the screen
Tables are very flexible. They’re able to get almost anything more or less visible on a screen. But by putting large elements in a table cell you might force the cells to become too large. Thus making horizontal scrolling necessary. So limit the number and size of pictures, long words (e.g. long links), predefined text etc.

Don’t overuse frames
Use only a limited number of frames. Always check if the screen doesn’t get crammed if a low resolution screen is used.

Do vertical align the content of table cells
You do you use table cells to get your info on the right position? Then be sure to align the content vertically.

Don’t mix horizontal aligning
Mixing centered text and text that’s left aligned makes a mess of your page. If you want to center text do it consistently. Exceptions are centering text of headers or centered text placed in a border.

Printing Factors to Consider

There is a lot to consider when choosing the right paper for printing. Paper quality should never be taken for granted or else you might lose the whole printing factor. Some designers don’t give much consideration in the kind of paper they are going to use. This is not so tolerable because in the first place quality is being risked. There are some important factors to consider. Opacity is very important. This talks about the transparency in inks. When your paper quality is low, the more it is transparent. Transparency matters because visibility makes sense.

Of course thickness must be observed. Papers have different weights and standards. For covers, it requires a heavier weight of paper. The heavier it is, the more expensive it gets. If postcard printing is your style, choose a thick quality paper. Poor quality or thin postcards might wear out easily. Sometimes due to mailing hassles, they get distorted and for sure your customer would not appreciate it. Who would appreciate your brochures if at first look it makes you want to look for something else?

Did you ever think brightness will still be considered? If you think it’s not, it does matter. Paper quality causes some lighting effects. Glossy paper appears to be mirror-like and sometimes it does not help a lot. Some people are too particular they might not like the light-shiny effect. You should keep it not so shimmering so that it will not look iridescent in daylight. Keeping it simple with a little glossy effect will make it readable.

Strength takes all weaknesses away. You should understand that keeping your brochures, catalogs tough and enduring will set a high standard to your prints. Keeping prints that can stand for a long time is something that you should be proud of. It is not certain for a print material to stand for a long time considering the packaging, keeping and other outside factors.

Sometimes keeping a copy of your old printed materials is good so that you can have a reference when you want to change your style and design. You might not know keeping it counts a lot in the future. Keeping these factors all together will make your print materials attractive and successful. Just keep in mind that one works for the other so if you lose a part, all will not function well.
