Virtualization Support For CA Technologies Extends
CA technologies released today their most updated version 12.5 of the CA IT Client Manager (ITCM). This is done for they are prepping up for a fundamental changes in how systems are controlled all across their virtual enterprise.
Allan Anderson, the CA IT Client Manager Vice President of product management stated that this is going to be the first time that a release adds support for desktop management and server virtual machines as part of a comprehensive approach to managing IT assets.
Not only that, the new release will also support Windows 7 in the new release as well as CA Technologies will be bringing new addition to the ability to manage application virtualization running on top of either Microsoft virtual machine platforms or VMWare.
The first step to a hefty transformation of systems management in the IT department is the ability to do inventory and configure virtual machines, Anderson said.
And, as of now, systems management is focused primarily on one thing: the systems itself. But, IT management will be increasingly focused on controlling virtual machines as virtualization keeps on evolving and evolving. Not only virtual machines, but also the dynamic workspace of end users that consistently will be accessing different enterprise applications for a number of devices in any day of the week. The ability to have total control of the workspace of end users is the cornerstone of the joined forces of CA Technologies made with RES Software just recently.
